Why is it that the price of BERNDS bikes is so high?
We have compared the prices of our BERNDS bikes on the market and found out that when it comes to comparable quality and equipment, we are in good company.
However, we had a hard time even finding any products to compare ours with. Our BERNDS folding bikes give you a consummate ride, as well as the advantage of being foldable - this is a pretty unique combination. That means that maybe you do not necessarily need two bikes. With a BERNDS you have a high-quality bike for practically every purpose - in fact, looked at closely, you are saving money.
Yet another advantage for commuters: on many kinds of public transport transporting a bike is charged for, but a BERNDS travels free, because when folded it is counted as luggage. So the initial outlay for a BERNDS can pay off very quickly.
Since BERNDS bikes are intended for intensive use, our customers look on them as a good investment which pays off every day in terms of usefulness. No high-quality product of this kind can be manufactured on the cheap without forfeiting something in the process. This is a basic decision which every consumer makes:
am I prepared to pay the real value of a product of the quality that I want, or do I think that quality can be produced at a bargain-basement price?
Considering, most supposed special offers, when you use them, turn out to be a compromise. As a rule, this kind of product needs to be upgraded later or lasts such a short time that soon a replacement has to be bought. Apart from the fact that the product is not much fun while it lasts, this sort of product ends up being more expensive than buying a supposedly dearer, high-quality article in the first place.
This applies to high-quality bikes in general, and to folding bikes in particular. Good folding bikes cannot be manufactured at discount prices because the greater mechanical stress they are subject to necessitates a more elaborate design and the use of higher-quality components. Besides this, relatively low production runs affect the cost.
Last of all, the question of whether they keep their value: Even though we do not assume that you will ever want to sell your BERNDS, you can be sure that used BERNDS bikes, even basic models, time and again achieve decent prices on the market.
Our opinion is that BERNDS bikes are worth their price!
