Why does the rear wheel touch the mudguard? Doesn't it get broken?
We must be honest and say that up to 2004 there were more frequent breakages of rear mudguards on BERNDS folding bikes than is normal.
Because of this since 2005, BERNDS has successfully improved the mounting bracket on the mudguard and reduced the load on it
- by means of a special rubber suspension on the frame.
- by using particularly flexible mudguard stays
However, we do stress that the rear mudguard on any folding bike, including the BERNDS, is a part which is subject to wear and tear if no luggage rack is mounted on the bike. Its service life depends heavily on how often you stand the BERNDS on its mudguard and the nature of the ground you stand it on. You can order BERNDS replacement mudguards as a complete set (front and rear mudguard, struts, fixing screws) or individual parts - at a fair price.
